Plastic Surgeons Have Advice for Consumers

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, consumer beware - and make sure you do all your homework.

Anyone considering cosmetic surgery should make sure that a board certified cosmetic surgeon is doing the procedure. This follows reports of silicone injections gone horribly wrong in NYC. Silicone is used in procedures such as breast augmentation and butt augmentation, but in this case an unqualified person was injecting the material directly into thighs and hips. There have also been reports of poor outcomes when unlicensed cosmetologists injecting materials at their homes.
