State Wants Safer Cosmetic Surgery

One state is trying to reduce risks associated with cosmetic surgery.

A CA legislator says people should be required to have physical exams before undergoing any cosmetic surgeries. Others oppose the measure, saying that current rules governing such procedures are enough. The requirement would apply to more involved surgeries such as a brow or forehead lift or butt augmentation. Medical tests would not be required for less invasive procedures such as cosmetic laser resurfacing.
