Plastic surgeons are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

In choosing a cosmetic or plastic surgeon, it is important to look for a doctor who specializes in the procedure you are considering. Make sure you ask questions and get satisfactory answers. Ask to see before and after photos of people who had the surgery you are considering, and who have a face or body structure similar to your own. Ask about the cost of your procedure as well, and make sure this is something that you can afford and that you really need before going ahead.
